Xiaomi has announced that it will be holding an event in New York on December 8. The information comes via Reddit where the company’s operational project manager Aaron Yang said that users will be able to experience the latest Xiaomi products at the event. The post was first spotted by XDA Developers.
“Hello /r/Xiaomi Mi Fans! Xiaomi US will be hosting an event on 12/8 in New York, Time & Location TBA. Come join our party to experience our latest and greatest Xiaomi products along with meeting our team, special guests, and notable celebrities!” the post reads.
Xiaomi has shared a link in the post whereby guests can register their interest for the event via a Google form. However, the company in the indicated that the US-based users will be preferred.
While Xiaomi continues to have its dominant presence in the Asian market, the company’s devices are not officially available in the US. The Chinese handset maker has gradually expanded its portfolio this year making its entry in the UK and ‘Irish’ market. Currently, Xiaomi sells a few products in the US like Mi electric scooter, Mi power bank pro, Mi Box S, Mi home security camera and wireless earphones. However, the company’s move to unveil new products in the US market seems tentative.
Besides the date, Xiaomi has not shared any detail regarding the exact location, time and the products the company is planning to unveil at the event. However, reports speculate that Xiaomi might bring its latest flagship smartphone, Mi Mix 3, the gaming phone Black Shark, and a few accessories at its New York event.
